Digging Holes

A day of two halves.

The morning was spent putting Claire's IEP together with Nadine. There's so much I want to say and put into it because I feel that she will need a lot of support through the transition to secondary school. I have to be realistic though as to how many targets can be achieved. Ultimately as her parents, we will always be Claire's main support network, but it does take a little of the pressure off as other agencies will be involved.

The rest of the morning was spent conducting dyslexia screening. The results came back as at 'strong risk' and therefore targets and strategies will be put in place to support the child, the teacher and parents; namely an IEP.

Having the barriers to your child's learning identified, long term and short term targets set and strategies selected can be a huge relief to parents and I can now say this with experience.

The afternoon was far more light hearted with sports day. Fantastic weather made the day even better and everyone seem to have a great time.

I was on the look out for Beauty is Truth as her wee boy would be there, but it was mobbed very well supported by Mums, Dads, Grannies and Grandads etc.

Claire and I took Rocket and Radar along the beach this evening, where they got down to the business of their favourite past time.

It's very funny to watch as they go like the clappers and will dig holes all over the beach and wont stop until you drag them away.
