Tubing.....

Weeki Wachee Springs is one of the older Florida attractions. Before Disney, Busch Gardens, Universal Studios, and Sea World appeared on the tourist scene, the mermaids and their shows were all the rage.

I took my grandkids there today for a fun time of swimming, tubing on the river, seeing those mermaids and enjoying a laid-back sort of day together.

My kids are the redhead and the little guy with the bright green swimming goggles perched up on his forehead. We saw birds and fish, some turtles, plenty of sunburned folks, only one crying baby, and a small clutch of fresh water snail's eggs on a stalk (see my blipfolio for that photo and a couple of pretty shots of the river)
