Speculum
No, not the medical instrument, but the wing flash of a mallard drake.
A bit of a lazy blip today (that's one step short of an 'emergency blip'). The local park has a duck pond where mallard, tufted ducks, greylag geese, coots and seagulls can be seen any day of the week.
So where are the swans this year? None in the local park. Yesterday's cygnets were 17 miles away, though there are certain to be many closer at hand.
