That Takes The Cherry

Usually the birds take the cherries but this beauty was left for me. Yum!

In truth we've done quite well this year and there's plenty about for the human inhabitants of the garden. I prefer them when they're just starting to go red like this. I think the variety is Stella and they go a deep red eventually but too sweet for my taste.

I did use the last few in a black forest gateau last year. I think there's some kirsch in the back of the cupboard so I could have another go, maybe at the weekend.
