Farm Machinery

This apparatus is just off Route 47 in Hadley, Mass., below Mt. Holyoke. I find it quite fascinating. I assume it is used for some aspect of hay-making, but I don't know exactly what. Edit: It's a hay tedder, used to spread hay to help it dry (see the third comment below--thanks!).

The region around our home in Northampton, in the Pioneer Valley, is very agricultural. Last spring and summer I blipped a number of scenes on this theme--especially agriculture. I've tagged them "Noho agriculture" (even though most are outside Northampton).
