Casablanca!!!
Today we were in Casablanca, Morocco, and I'm going to dedicate this blip to one of my favourite blippers, Dolcezza.
It was a pleasant day with bright blue sky's, although a little windy at times. We didn't go on any organized tour but just went for a wander around town. The picture above is of the Hassan II Mosque. It is the 2nd largest religious monument in the world, after Mecca. It has space for 25,000 worshipers inside and a further 80,000 outside. This 210 metre Minaret is the tallest of it's kind. A stunningly beautiful place of worship, that is in complete contrast to the surrounding area and buildings.
Although we are on the coast, the air is thick with dirt and dust, not to mention the smells, but for me it only adds to the flavour of the place. Something that, although maybe not completely unique, gives you something to take away with you and to remember it apart from other places.
We walked all day, stopping for a drink, in and out of markets and parks. Quite a bit to take in and see, and I would love to come back again to do a bit of real exploring, not just here, but Morocco in general.
