Glass act
We spent the evening at Auchterader Golf Club where four magnificent glass panels made by boys with Asperger's Syndrome were unveiled as part of an event organised by the Perth branch of the National Autistic Society and the Community School of Auchterarder Parent Council. Radio Five's Shelagh Fogarty is an old friend of the artist who put the project together and she was there to support the event/fundraiser as guest speaker.
Shelagh in turn asked me to try out my Michael Parkinson, or was that Alan Carr, impression and turn it from a talk into a interview/conversation. All I really had to do was lob a juicy line every so often and Shelagh could run with an anecdote or story. We rattled on for more than an hour, including a question and answer session, before the food arrived.
After is was over we stayed in a cottage Shelagh had rented just outside Forgandenny. A late but fun night.
