Needled

This is the Universiteitsbibliotheek or the central library of the University of Leuven.

The beetle on the needle is by Flemish artist Jan Fabre.

We went to Leuven to have dinner at the home of old friends - a university professor and his wife. He is an excellent cook and a great lover of wine, a man after my own heart. By the end of the evening I was well and truly in my cups and knew I would probably wake up feeling like this poor beetle. I wasn't wrong.

Praise be to sober husbands who drive home safely.
