The Other Indiana Jones

Indiana Jones and Sean Connery never had this trouble on a movie set!

Think of theme tune from the Indiana Jones movies then picture the part in one of the movies (can't remember the title right now) when Sean Connery uses an umbrella on a beach to chase up a flock of sea birds into the path of an attacking aircraft.

Well......we were on the serenely empty beach with some shallow cliffs in Wester Ross, Scotland when the not so bright idea came into my head of 'wouldn?t it be fun to do a spoof of the Sean Connery scene running up a beach with an umbrella chasing the sea birds? But we don?t have an umbrella'. I thought I was on safe ground here until daughter Laura piped up 'yes we do' and produced a bright red brolly.

It descended into chaos from that point:
* We did a first 'take' which was sort of ok but it was decided by Mrs S and Laura that a re-take was needed. (one was shooting stills and one was videoing using the excellent Lumix GF1 camera).
* So I did it again. The brolly wouldn't open. No matter - just carry on anyway. (I'm pretty certain Sean Connery would have walked of the film set by now).
* Behr - who watched the first episode with the sort of disbelief on his face that only dogs can manage - decided that all this fliming without him being in the scene was simply not good enough so he charged into view determined to get a piece of the action. Hence this blip photo.

With the brolly now (thankfully) not working that brought an end to our efforts at film making at least for that day. Terrific fun though. I just need to put in my claim for performing rights fees (doubt if they'll be paid though).
