Foggy sunrise

Close Encounter of a fourth kind (1979) was my original post for today. I took a photograph at 1000 of my laptop on which (as the screen saver) I had an old picture, which I acknowledged in the write up had been taken in 1979. I did not take that photo, but I did take the one I submitted to blipfoto. A photo of my laptop screen.

I considered one of the other shots which showed more of the laptop and have then decided to submit a photo from my run this morning. It is a legitimate photo in every way, and meets the requirements for being my 200th entry. As it was also while running I am pleased to have that aspect continued as well.

I am sorry that my pleasure at posting the previous photo has been squashed. I hope those who did see it and commented positively will understand that I was not in my mind cheating or breaking rules.

In response to this week's challenge I initially posted a photograph of my laptop screen showing a photograph taken at a fancy dress party the inestimable and totally gorgeous S and I attended in November 1979. The design of our costumes, their production, and our name (Close Encounters of the Fourth Kind) were all her work. That included the silver hair spray, for us both, and the liberal use of mascara in my beard.

It was a wonderful evening with good friends. However, I was a little circumspect with my own intake of the lovely red wine S has hold of, because early the next morning I was entered in my second marathon. I finished (much better than the cramp plagued first one six years previously) in 2hrs 58 with silver streaking down my face.

Ahhhhh! The resilience of youth. Ohhhhh, the reality of age.
