1st Annual Boat Regatta

The excitement for this cardboard boat race pulled out a big crowd (I think it was the free hamburgers, hotdogs and italian ice). this is the newest pond in my new neighborhood. Now if you have seen my photos of alligators in the pond near me daily gator visits I know I didn't want to get in the pond, but they did a full pond search and said no gators. No boat sunk, which I found amazing, and many were well balanced and some had many problems but all boats made it across the lake.

The first ingredient in cardboard boat-building is creativity. The second important ingredient is problem-solving. Then there is cardboard, of course -- and it has to be corrugated.

Hey, maybe you are more the "wing it" type -- okay, get some cardboard, fold it a little, cut out any excess here and there, add a little glue or duct tape, maybe some paint or water sealant, and presto-chango, you have a boat for the Regatta.
