Basil

Basil Fawlty, Basil Rathbone, Basil Hallward , Isabella and the Pot of Basil, the king of herbs available in more than 30 types, from bright green to purple, pesto, basil butter, basil fettuccine and that's about all I ahve to say on the subject of basil. Except that I read that Gwyneth Paltrow doesn't want her daughter to pronounce it the English way; tough luck Mrs Martin, can you imagine anyone in their right mind saying Bay-zil Rathbone, or Fawlty?
