Windermere Ferry

Getting away from it all. on our way to Hawkshead Hill for a few days' break. It was around 7pm when we took the ferry "Mallard" across Windermere. It costs £4.30 for a car buy only 50p for a pedestrian. Over to the west of the lke you will find Hill Top Farm where Beatrix Potter wrote many Peter Rabbit books.

I love this little ferry ride - it makes me feel like I'm a six year-old again.
