Dam ND
Headed over to Gartmorn Dam this evening, kitted out with some newly acquired ND filters to experiment a bit. Not convinced...
Admittedly, the filters aren't the best - cheap and cheerful Chinese imports off of Ebay - and, being acrylic and prone to static, they collected dust quicker than last year's X Factor winner's CDs. They also clipped the deepest tones and the filter holder was visible at the widest angles. Think maybe the masses of midges got to me in the end so I gave up and I've ended up with a lot of flat looking images. I'll persevere with the fiddly little buggers another time and may do a bit of post-processing to see if there's anything salvageable from this lot.
Took this shot after stripping all the plastic off, sticking on a semi-decent circular polariser and turning the camera in the opposite direction to the water I'd been trying to smooth out. Clouds save the day again, 'mon the clouds.
There's a moon up there too.
