The Roughest Swan Around

This is as sad as it looks. I Blipped Mrs Urban Swan a few weeks ago and have been back a few times in the expectation of seeing little urban swans but to no avail. Today, just after this shot, she switched places with Mr Urban Swan and I had a look at what was once seven eggs. There were five and Mr S. broke one with a loud crack while I was changing lenses. There was only a lot of egg gook inside, they were not fertile. So they are wasting their time with the last four, they are at least 3 week over due.

There is a reason to the title and the repeat of swans in one week. I think I have found a way to upgrade my camera - a local competition for "Urban Nature" with a prize of a EOS 600 up for grabs. That'll do nicely. I think I might have a few entries to throw in so I'm going to dig through my hard drive to see what else I got (no limit on entries or date it seems :-). Any suggestions welcome, I have 9 days to do the best urban nature shot I can or pick an old one.
