Cornflowers and Daisies
This picture sums up the day nicely, huge billowing clouds, sunshine and showers.
I noticed the cornflowers a couple of days ago growing in the field margin by the lane, along with ox eye daisies and scattered clumps of poppies, but I couldn't get a good shot of all three species.
I think the cornflowers have been planted, rather than occuring naturally, as part of the extensive hedge planting that has been undertaken on this particular farm. I'm hoping they self seed, providing us with the joy of this delightful blue for many years to come.
