On the way back form Carrick On Shannon, I turned off the N4 and headed towards Jamestown which used to be on the old national route. You pass through a set of large stone pillars, (remnants of the day when the town was fortified). The very sleepy village is right beside the Shannon and is worth a visit.

Driving out through Jamestown I spotted this beautiful farm building just as you cross the bridge heading for Drumsna.

Such craftmanship...
