Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Bones

Woke up today to nasty cold rain! I can't believe that my bookclub managed to be here for the 4 best days we have had in a long time! The last 4. Moving slowly today, (and quietly) I blipped something close by - in the rain. We are about to leave to drive to Seattle for about a week (yes, might be a grandchild blip or 2...) so will post this and hope there isn't a big pod of killer whales right next to the ferry! (I know I can always change it later...) Actually the sun came out and it's quite nice now mid afternoon....

Anyway, this is the tool shed with bones. I kind of like the composition. One morning a couple years ago, I looked out and saw a very large, very dead river otter laying in the "garden", trying to eat green things. (I think he may have been poisoned....!) Yuk. What to do with it? We put it in the wheelbarrow and took it down to the beach above the high tide line and waited for those turkey vultures and whoever else wanted some, and then when there was nothing but bones, H gathered them up and wired them together. it did get moved a little but we kept our eyes on it. Learning experience for the grandkids. The birds have been known to peck at that little pile of ribs. The deer was also found in the woods not too far away- the rest of his bones are elsewhere.....

I'll try to do a better job of keeping up with more of you and your photos with a better internet connection in Seattle! I'm looking forward to it!!
