Clearing East
Kippielaw from Traprain Law, East Lothian. Berwick Law and the Bass Rock in the distance, the clouds boiling away over the sea.
After a torrential downpour in Edinburgh at about 4pm the clouds blew east so that I had a dry ride home. As I approached home the sunshine was catching up and I was glad I took the road up the side of Traprain for the view. I was actually hoping the glow over Edinburgh to the west would give me a good image, but by the time I was up there the low sun was glowing north-east over the fields.
I rode to Drem again this morning, forgot my water bottle and had to double back - which meant I had to hammer it along the road. Made the 0804 train in 40 minutes including the extra double-back-mile which is great.
After the downpour, thunder and lightning in Edinburgh I did consider taking the train home but I didn't want to and I'm glad I did the distance.
Got home to find yet more exciting parcels, one was just pants and socks the other is secret for now! (It's Gordon's birthday soon...)
