Captivating

Not a fantastic shot, but it is what I was staring at for a good four hours. So, the ER visit to Hartford Hospital went like this. I came in because I've been experiencing dizzy spells, and I had some weird episode two nights ago where I was sitting at the computer and had the same sensation that you have when you hit your funny bone except in my brain. Sounds fun, right? Okay, so I've come semi-close to fainting a couple other times in the past few weeks.

These obviously aren't life threatening things unless I have a brain tumor, right? Okay. So, we sit in the waiting room for SEVEN HOURS before we get seen by a doctor. And then, it takes another couple hours to see the doctor and for her to tell me that I am neurologically perfect and they don't want to run a ct scan because of the levels of radiation I would be exposed to and she doesn't think I have anything to warrant that. So, they did an ekg to make sure my heart was fine (it was) and a urine test and told me that I probably just have a high vagal tone. In other words, when I'm dehydrated or really hot or stressed out, I have a higher tendency to faint than other people.

After 11 hours in the ER, I COULD HAVE TOLD YOU THAT. Thank you to my primary doctor for being far too hasty. Also, I don't know how hospitals function in places like Australia or the UK where it's publicly funded, but I have a feeling that it's a little bit better run than this.
