Louise's blips

High drama!

This is not the most in focus picture I know but it is the best shot of the two of them.

Yesterday a young Jackdaw got stranded in our garden. It is a completely enclosed walled garden so I don't know if it just can't fly well enough to get over the walls or if it got injured. It can certainly fly a bit and walk fine. The problem is that we also have nesting blackbirds and 'She' was NOT AT ALL HAPPY. She was fluffed up and dive bombing the poor baby at every opportunity. He was obviously quite stressed at having to be on guard all the time. I was quite relieved when a parent jackdaw came yesterday evening and had a little chat with the baby but I still wasn't sure what the night would bring.

I put out water and a fat ball for him and he seems to have survived the night fairly well. The adult is now coming every now and then and feeding him. However this sends the blackbird into a frenzy and she goes absolutely bonkers! I haven't managed to get a picture of the three of them but I will keep trying.
