A Strap On... Irish Style!

If I were to mention the words "Strap On", I would doubtless conjure up various reactions amomg the citizens of Blipland. Some would get a fit of the giggles, others develop a nasty smirk. A few would claim total ignorance of such matters (liars!) and many would just politely look the other way.

I have decided therefore not to mention the words at all today.

Meanwhile, in the tiny village of Robert's Cove, between Cork City and Kinsale, they have their own interpretation, for down thereabouts a "Strap-On" would appear to be a mailing box, strapped firmly to a stout pole, there being very little else in Robert's Cove on which to hang a mailing box. I love the pole's little tin hat which keeps the rain from seeping into the end grain and causing rot. The strapping further down is a bit of a mystery really but quite likely is to protect the pole from errant parking. As the box is outside the pub it's quite likely that the late night parking may have caused terminal damage to the previous pole!
