Another one bites the dust...

These are the cards and gift that I received from the school I have been at for the last 5 months. I found out on Wednesday that due to not enough money in the pot and the freeing up of Yr 11 teachers through exam leave that I will not be required after half term. Gutted!

I have had a fantastic time with them, great people to with and the kids have been awesome!

I was only telling my SEN classes that I was leaving as I wanted to prepare them for someone else teaching them. They made the big card at the back with the gift from the dept strategically placed as it is very personal from them with their photos, names, personal messages and pictures that they have drawn of me as a pirate (red nose day) and of me diving. Anyone involved in education will understand the need for strategic placing! Its a fantastic card and it means a lot to me, they have made me laugh and we have had a lot of fun together over the last 5 months, I will miss them a lot.

The other cards are from the dept and my Yr 7 group who were told by a colleague from another dept that I was leaving and he organised a card and pressie from them, all very sweet and appreciated and their reaction in the lesson to me leaving was overwhelming. I was very glad that S had told them... thank you! On reflection I was glad I was able to say goodbye to them, rather than them finding out afterwards. They've been a fantastic group.

The present you can see is a paddling pool so that I can practice my diving skills in the back garden! I owe them a photo once my new drysuit arrives!

The last lesson of the day we had the Salvation Army Band from Melbourne Australia perform and it was totally not what we were all expecting... they blew us all away with a fantastic and thoroughly modern and enjoyable performance! The kids loved it too!

After school we had cake and bubbly in the restaurant and then a few of us went off to have dinner at a local pub where there was much hilarity and thoroughly enjoyable evening was had.
