Name please

My sister and I are going through cupboards starting to sort and dispose of things at our mums when she found this.
Now I can remember a number of soft toys that I had as a child but if I had been asked if I had an elephant I would have said 'no'.
But this was mine and as soon as I saw him(her) I remembered. Including the string tale with a knot in it.

However I can't remember if the poor thing ever had a name.
So suggestions please.
