Palace fit for a Queen
Mary of Guise and her daughter the young Mary Queen of Scots leaving court at the Great Hall of Stirling Castle today. On the right and ushering the Queen Consort and Mary Queen of Scots is the French ambassador to the Scots Court HenriCleutin.
This marked the end of formal events for the second super day of celebrating the opening of the refurbished Royal Palace at Stirling Castle. Yesterday's blip highlighted the royal party at a feast and although I could have posted photos of sword fighting or beautiful costumes or the young Queen Mary in the sunny gardens with her lady in waiting and guards, the Historic Scotland event was all about a Palace fit for a Queen so I felt it was right to try to illustrate just how majestic the event was with this photo.
If other blippers were at Stirling Castle yesterday or today then I hope you enjoyed the events as much as we did. I'll be posting some more of the event photos on my new website next week and on Flickr.
A proud weekend indeed for Stirling and Scotland. We were glad and privileged to be part of it. A great and happy occasion that will live long in the memory.
