Scrawny Old Man

Where?

Where are we? At our campsite (see how smooth the grass is) close to Loch nan Stuirteag in the Cairngorms, about 900m up between Sgor an Lochan Uaine and Monadh Mor.
Where have the tents gone? I wanted to blip our campsite with tents but in this weather nobody was hanging around admiring the view (we couldn't even see the lochan) so the tents came down in double-quick time.
Where is it? Whatever Kathy's looking for, it must be in there somewhere.
Where are we going? With help from GPS, up Monadh Mor and then Beinn Bhrotain. The mist stayed with us over Monadh Mor then cleared for the rest of the day. Still quite cool, good walking weather.
Finally dragged ourselves a long way along the track back to the cars (traditionalists talk about 'the long walk in' as one of the joys of Scottish hillwalking - they never mention the long walk out).
Then a welcome coffee then fish & chips in Braemar, home and a much-needed shower. Only 518m ascent today (and 1021m descent) but 17.3km.
After wondering whether I really wanted to do this mad trip, had a great time!
You can see the rest of the trip here and here.
