A blip of the German kind

What can I say? We Germans love our beer or Czech beer for that matter ;) When I was little my dad always let me sip the foam off the glass of beer but it's taken me much much longer until I actually started to like drinking a cold beer. It was during the football world championships back in 2006. Funnily enough I wasn't even in Germany but in Sweden at that time. I have never been a huge football fan and I still don't care too much about it. Only when you're living somewhere new and all your friends are planning to watch those matches you are pretty much left with two choices only: either no social life whatsoever for those 4 weeks or you agree to meet up and enjoy your friends' company sitting in a bar or restaurant while they show the matches in the background.Obviously I went for the 2nd choice. Being in Sweden drinking alcohol can get very pricey ... especially if you stick to wine or cocktails. Beer was definitely the cheaper option (well ... or water but that wasn't really a serious option ;) ). So that's when I started to drink beer ... and now I actually quite enjoy an occasional cold pint :)

Anyhow .. after I had caught up with some work I met R and a friend at our local pub. It was another warm summer days .. a working day nonetheless .. but a rather quiet one as most of the sensible people took that day off (yesterday was a bank holiday).
