Markinch Highland Games

Had a good day out at Markinch Highland Games this afternoon. Well until I noticed that my battery was at 0%!!

Anyway. This is E. Sadeghpoor who won the youths 800m cycle. The only other competitor was his younger brother who had a 145m start due to his age. It was a good race with not much celebrating the brothers at the end. The boys' mum was sitting beside us shouting out encouragement to both. She was a winner no matter who won.

We also witnessed a new world record in the 28lb Weight for Distance event. The previous world record was set at this same venue in 1997. A distance of 92 feet and 7 inches. Today that was blasted by a throw of 92 feet and 10 inches.
