Public leaning post

When I was a lad, a PLP was just a thing people called you before squashing you in a corner. Nowadays it performs a much more useful function and I came down to Haywards heath to help a group of volunteers (including my mother) erect a couple of new ones. I manfully helped dig down through 2ft of impacted clay and assisted in the putting up. Then had to go home for a lie down in the bath.
