Vandals

There is a narrow 'ditch' between lawn and path. Last year it was full of weeds so I decided to try using lawn clippings to fill it in and hopefully supress the weeds.

This worked well last year, but this year I keep finding the clippings scattered across the path.

I thought it was the work of a cat, until I looked out of the window the other day and saw the culprit standing in the ditch and digging around, scattering lawn clippings in the process.

The criminal? - a blackbird!

Not sure if he was after worms or if he wanted some of the moss for nest building.
