Thongweed Buttons

Or to be more correct, Himanthalia elongata. Ollie and I went for a good energetic and reinvigorating walk this afternoon with Mrs U and her dogs. Lovely and sunny and warm. Perfect for a paddle!

Spotted these down by low water. The seaweed itself is the button, the thongs are the reproductive bits! Great colours down at the water's edge, lots of dark purple sea anemones and pink corals and bright acid green sea weeds.

This weather is incredible - wonderfully warm and sunny. Tonight we sat out at the back with our fish and chips and a glass of wine. Perfect!
