day trip to York

Today I slept in and woke with a sinking feeling, I assumed I had wasted too much of the day and it would be a boring Saturday. But Mr B had plans.

We took a lunchtime train to York for a fiver (a deal through his work) and it was fab. We went round the shops, looked at the Minster, had tea and scones at Betty's, walked the city walls, generally meandered round, had drinks at a pretty bar on the riverside and finished with dinner at a restaurant in the old Assembly rooms. An excellent Saturday.

Mr B's highlight was introducing me to his favourite street in York (pictured). It apparently means "what a street". It was indeed a good street.
