Cooperation or competition?

It's been an eventful day! We got up early to try to capture kingfishers or woodpeckers at Lymm Dam, but failed again.
Then we went to the local hospice for marshall briefing for the forthcoming sponsored walk. We joined the tour around afterwards and were both very moved by the tranquillity of the place, the care of the staff and the absolute beauty of the new extension.
Then it was off to Chester to the Roman festival. We sat in the hot sunshine around the amphitheatre watching an impressive number of Celtic and Roman re-enactors fighting, drilling and telling their stories.
We had intended to finish the day with a free look at the polo match at the Roodee, but they had closed the footpath. That probably says it all about polo.
I've got some pleasing shots from the arena, but BE will probably blip something from there. And I'm not really a dog person, but this pair made me smile.
