Distressed Robins
Had to be in Sittingbourne for 8.15am this morning for a football tournament with D so early I rise to find my robins making a terrible racket, they are normally very quiet. Discovered a cat lurking around the bottom of the ivy underneath where the nest is. Had to scare it away twice in the space of an hour.
ame back from footy to discovered them going ape still, cat is back. This time it didn't scarper when I went out there and I actually had to chase it all the way down the garden before it left....with the robin following me all the way making as much noise as they could!
Unfortunately there is damage to the ivy where the nest is. I can't see anything in there, the robins do not seem to bringing food to the nest anymore and are just generally hanging around, not in their usual way. I see no evidence that the cat has had them, a lot of ivy debris on the floor but no feather or nest remains etc, so I do hope that today was the day they flew the nest. We can only hope for the best.
The football went well, we entered 2 teams, both of which made the final :D Didn't matter who won after that! Champions and Runners Up. Well done boys!
