The Scottish Play - at the refurbished RSC

Stratford-on-Avon is the heart of Shakespearean theatre and the old theatre has experienced a fabulous face lift. The theatre-in-the-round approach, stacked audience rather like battery hens, and with all kinds of built-in trickery on the stage.

It is magnificent. For this afternoon's performance of the Scottish Play, it was a perfect foil for the excellent acting - and plenty of blood and guts.

I was not surprised to see two ambulances waiting outside after the performance, but I haven't heard about any real life blood shed by the actors !!! (and I hope I won't)

and this one can be seen large for more detail
