Goodbye Frankfurt, hello Dresden!

Moving day. Today was pretty manic and rather exhausting. As I hadn't been able to contact my landlord to arrange an appointment to hand over the keys for a few weeks, today seemed to be pretty much the only other possibility .. according to my landlord that was obviously. I still had to clean out some rubbish and tidy up a bit. Due to the scheduled day and time there was no one really to help me.

I left Dresden early morning to arrive in Frankfurt at 9am (it's a 460km drive). That left me with exactly 7 hours to accomplish everything ... from cleaning out the basement, cleaning out the flat from what's left as well as pack the car and to tidy up. I honestly don't know I managed it all ... but at 4pm I was ready to show the apartment to my landlord. The discussion about the state of the flat and whether there were any damages went much smoother than I had expected. Not that I left the flat in a desolate state but somehow you never know how picky these landlords really are.

As soon as I was done I headed back to Dresden or well ... attempted to head back. Unfortunately I had picked a time and day (evening before a bank holiday and possibly a long weekend) that put me right in the middle of massive rush hour traffic. I basically left Frankfurt driving not faster than 5 or 10km/h taking me over an hour to even get to the motorway.

Back in my new home R had prepared a nice dinner. Thank you!
