An Unusual Twist
Over the holiday weekend, a pair of house finches built this nest on a wreath on the door of my dentist's office. Seemed a rather bold move, considering the amount of traffic this doorway saw once business resumed today. But the receptionist assured me that the mother returns to the nest in between patients entering and exiting the office. I've known robins to build nests this close to people, but not many other birds.
Weird weather rolled in later in the afternoon. In fact, twisters were reported in central and western Massachusetts. In our neck of the woods, we were spared from the tornadoes, but we got a weird orange sky, thunderstorms, and lots of wind. I love wild weather, but my daughter and one of the dogs weren't big fans. Fortunately I refilled the dog's Xanax prescription earlier today!
