Blessing
A wonderful day today, spent in excellent company at the beautiful wedding of 2 English friends who have a house here in Symi.
It was the first wedding I've been to here and showed me what a fabulous place Symi is to celebrate nuptials, whether in a very traditional Greek style or in a civil service followed by a blessing like today's.
Apprently though, 'blessing' is the wrong word. Papa Lefteris wasn't allowed to bless the union as neither of the couple are Greek Orthodox, so it had to be a 'sending them on their wedded way' service held at a tiny church near Aghio Marina beach. As you can see, this snap was taken in the middle of the service and over on the left is a guest appearance by fellow Blipper, Jord aka Symi Island, Greece. He was official photographer for the day. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of his pictures.
Back to reality/work tomorrow. Damn!
More of my wedding snaps are in 2 Flickr sets.
