Last Day of Holiday

Today was the last day of our holiday. It's been good fun, but not very relaxing. Could have done with more sleep at night instead of during the day! Last night H slept quite well, typical!

We had planned a last trip to the beach today but it was really windy so it would have been too cold and a bit pointless. We walked down to the pool, but the water was freezing and it was too windy to sit about so we just went for a walk around the area instead - down to the beach, into some shops, and then finished our packing.

I think H's favourite thing about our holiday was that our room was at the end of a very long corridor, and every time we went out, or returned to the room, she ran at top speed along the corridor, laughing and giggling like mad! On returning, we would go into the apartment, and she would stand outside and refuse to cross the threshold, knowing that if she did, we would close the door and she would be stuck inside. She would hover at the door, then run off down the corridor for a bit until she realised we weren't following. Then she would come back and hover about some more (repeat as necessary). It doesn't sound like much, but it's definitely one of our favourite memories of the holiday.

For the first time ever I think, I didn't have a change of clothes in H's changing bag for our journey home. I had a spare t-shirt, but decided we would just be careful when H was eating/drinking and cover her lap with a muslin. Unfortunately, hubby was left in charge of her whilst I queued for ice-cream, and in that time, H poured an entire carton of juice over herself. She was soaked through and we had to strip her off. So she spent the next hour running around the airport in spare t-shirt and nappy! Not too bad in Spain, but knowing we were coming home to winter weather in Scotland concerned us. The hand dryers weren't strong enough to dry her trousers, but luckily the flight was so hot and stuffy (no air conditioning) that they did try out on the plane. H was quite well behaved on the flight home and overall, we had a good time! Just a shame that Scotland's weather is so miserable, and our holidays are over so early in the year!
