Luna
The night sky was amazing tonight with the Milky Way streaking brightly across the heavens above New Zealand. The waxing gibbous Moon was the brightest object in the sky, but shining next to it was the planet Saturn and the multiple star Regulus.
The large crater at the top is Tycho with its ray system spreading out over a huge area.
brickmaker has blipped the Moon from the Northern Hemisphere and the difference of about 12 hours can be seen as more of the Moon is exposed.
The many colours of the Moon can be seen here.
