Backstroke

I was following a pair of these ducks as the female was diving for food. All the while the male kept close attendance on her, then suddenly, Mrs Tufty flipped over onto her back to deal with an irritation on her tummy.

I have witnessed such behaviour only once before (about 18 months ago) so maybe this is normal for these diving ducks.

I always consider a bird doing something is better than a bird just sitting there, so I thought this would be the most interesting blip to post today.
