Hero's first competition
Hero has been to his first competition today. It was not a real
competition. It was a fun show held on the main stage in a big amusement
park 'Bakken' north of Copenhagen.
10 dogs had been invited to compete - 5 novice dogs and 5 advanced dogs. Hero was not invited as he has not been old enough to compete until now (10 mth old), so he had no previous results to be chosen from, but one dog and handler team had to withdraw as the handler was poorly, so Hero and I got to take their place.
Hero was amazing. He was not at all worried about the big audience, being
on a stage or having a white faced clown standing close to him when
performing.
All the other dogs were experienced dogs that has been competing for
years. Even the dogs that they called 'novice' had all been competing for a long time and were qualified for intermediate or advanced class at kennel club shows.
The advanced dogs that was there had all been on the Danish Team for the big international championships.
So Hero was the only dog that really was a novice, but he still managed to
place 2nd!!!!! His first show and his first placing!!!!! I am so very very proud of
him!!!!
You can see his routine here!
Biscuit won the advanced class :-), so it was a good day for the Hazyland
Boys!
Todays photo is from Hero's performance. I chose this photo, because I like that we both look so happy.
