Time trials on the track for me and the boy today. 400m for him and a mile for me. No questions on his work rate here, I think.

Apart from trying to keep the demons of slobdom at bay, there is no denying the need to compete, even just with yourself. Quite what the point of it is is perhaps more of a mystery, but the high is addictive.
