The end of the road?

A sadder one today, sorry. I decided to post this one anyway because it made me think of the cycle of life in nature.

The weather forecast was wrong and the weather turned out to be very nice and sunny today (on a bank holiday, too!) so I went for a walk. Just a few minutes from home, I came across this squirrel. I also spotted a lot of jackdaws, gulls, and fieldfares, and heard some pheasants, but they all proved to be too quick or well hidden for me today.

Checked upon the swans at the nearby lake, no sign of little ones yet and the adults were too far for my 90mm lens, too.
