A vertical challenge

I thought I wouldn't blip today, as my plans changed in the late afternoon, which meant I again didn't go to the community garden. After a late meal I noticed the evening light was colourful with red sky in the west. I popped out to the back garden with the camera, only to be immediately joined by Bomble, who loves it when I go out in the garden at his favourite time for exploration.

He is a fine companion for a blipper on the prowl, sniffing about and playing at being a little kitten again. I ended up lying on the ground taking shots of roses in the gloom, so he started making his funny noises signifying his excitement and reserved for us humans. He never seems to make them with other cats. Suddenly I noticed him eyeing up the fence and his legs twitched slightly as he prepared for the six foot vertical ascent, grappling with his claws in the wood. Once on top he scratched his claws on the top of fence post then wandered along the top of the fence and jumped even higher onto the cabin roof.

I wandered off, as I couldn't see him and was about to go back inside the house. I took one last peek at the fence and saw Bomble getting ready to descend straight down onto one of the rose bushes so I grabbed this snap as he scampered down. It is quite hard to get a well illuminated picture of a black cat at the best of times, so this isn't the greatest of pictures. He will be outside till midnight probably, before returning upstairs to sleep. I do love him.
