Thirsty Gila Monster

Just as I looked over my patio wall, there was this large Gila Monster taking a drink. By the time I took the photo, with my IPhone, he was leaving. Not enough pixels to make it larger when I use the IPhone. Gila Monsters are very dangerous and their venom causes pain but rarely death. You do need to go to the hospital if bitten This one is 22" inches long and the size of a normal arm. Their tail is thick, like a sausage. They are covered with shiny bead-like scales. Very sharp teeth. Home is underground.
