CHARGE!

I go one way, Harley goes another and unlike any other dog, when he realises this, he goes back along the path and not across the grass (in case he gets his paws dirty).

This particular foible allows for time to get the camera out, set to the right things and zoomed to attempt a vaguely in focus shot of my puppy (15 on April fools).

The whole grass avoidance thing goes straight out the window as soon as there are ducks or the like for him to go and up-close-point at. If I get good enough boots and a bit crazy I may chase him one day and get a shot of him chasing ducks fruitlessly!
