Teas served in the Village Hall
This is Sue, our lovely friend and former neighbour who escaped surburban Lewisham to very rural Arnesby, in Leicestershire (see yesterday).
C & I have been press-ganged into helping out at the village Spring Fair every year for the past 3 years.
This year we helped in the Village Hall serving teas (as well as coffee and horrid squash for little people - can't believe I used to drink that stuff) in the morning along with a small battalion of women from the village. Various home-made cakes and savouries were available to ye olde publike to accompany a good old cup of rosie-lea.
In the afternoon we helped with recording times of mad people doing the cross-country run to nearby Shersby and back.
It was all so English including the fact that it pissed it down all day when they had hardly had any rain for weeks...bloody typical.
