Stones of Stenness

Our last day in Orkney and it just had to be another archaeological blip; it was a toss up between Maes Howe and the Stones. Another lovely sunny day up here in which we had an al fresco lunch and are about to have a barbeque IN ORKNEY!! We also went to Cuween chambered cairn (a mini Maes Howe) and shopped 'til we dropped in Kirkwall. A wonderful break - if only the ash cloud would come back and strand us here :o)
