A Titanic piece of history or a brick?

Ok, it looks like a bit of brick and it is a brick, however, it a bit of a brick from the slipway at Harland & Woolf in Belfast where the Titanic was launched 100 years ago to the day, on the 31st May 1911.

Here's the history of the brick:

About 20 years ago, myself and my uni chum, Andrea, were in Belfast for the day and thought we would like to see where the Titanic was launched, so headed to the aforementioned shipyard. The shipyard looked a bit out of sorts and was all fenced off, however, never ones to give up easily, we found a gap in the fence and managed to squeeze through it and headed off to find the Titanic slipway, as only students do.

Goodness knows how we would have identified the actual slipway, but that never put us off and we merrily went on our way. However, just as we were scurrying around, we were caught by a security guard who in a broad Belfast accent wanted to know why we were there ... anyway, to cut a long story short, he was lovely and promptly took us the the very slipway where the ship was launched and said I could take a piece of brick as a souvenir if I wanted to ... and here's the piece of brick.

Yes, I know it is still only a piece of brick!
